Children's Medical Services is a proud partner of 2009 Children’s Week. For more information, please visit the Children's Week web site.

Children's Medical Services has a new Provider Management Site. This site contains a listing of health care providers that are specially qualified to meet the unique needs of children with special health care needs.

Through this site the general public will be able to search for a specific CMS approved provider by name or obtain a listing of CMS approved providers available by specialty and by county.

Healthcare providers will be able to submit an electronic application for CMS participation. Existing CMS approved providers will be given access to the system as they come up for renewal, to review and update their existing data.

Public Comment Period Regarding Annual Part C Application: The Early Steps State Office is publishing the annual renewal application for funds under IDEA, Part C for public review.  The opportunity for public comment on the Part C application is available for 30 days beginning March 16, 2010 through April 15, 2010.

Newborn Screening Expansion: The Florida Newborn Screening Program currently screens for 35 disorders including hearing. Cystic Fibrosis screening was added in July 1, 2007.

Florida KidCare program: The Florida KidCare children's health insurance program now has year-round open enrollment. To get an application or for more information, visit the Florida KidCare web site at http://www.floridakidcare.org, or call the toll-free information line (1-888-540-5437).
