Program Performance & AccountabilityReauthorization of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) in 2004 requires that all participating states have a performance plan in place that evaluates efforts to implement IDEA and shows how the state will improve performance. The State Performance Plan is developed every six years with broad stakeholder input and submitted to the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). Click on the link below to view Florida's State Performance Plan.
States must report annually on the state's performance towards the targets established in the State Performance Plan through an Annual Performance Report (APR). Click on the links below to view Florida's Annual Performance Report.
In accordance with federal reporting requirements identified by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), states must report annually to the public in meeting select targets set in the State Performance Plan (SPP). Local Early Steps are monitored to determine their performance with these targets identified in the SPP. Click on the link below to view state and Local Early Steps performance reports.
For more information on each indicator, view the Indicator Descriptions. While Florida has made significant progress in meeting the targets in the State Performance Plan, we have been determined by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) to continue to Need Assistance in meeting the requirements of IDEA, Part C and have been directed by OSEP to seek technical assistance for timely correction of identified noncompliance. For more information, please read the OSEP response letter to Florida's Revised APR submitted April 2011. The below links are reports containing information important for the public to have access to related to serving infants and toddlers, and their families, in Florida's Early Steps system. |
